The reverse side is stamped 900, so the metallic portion is composed of 90 percent silver, a continental European standard, perhaps a European silver-smith and jeweler that operated from Imperial Russia , for the lovely charm was definitely made for the Imperial Russian market. The worn down loop connected to the bale has a partial makers mark but that is no longer legible. Weighs approximately 4.7 grams, coincidence? Approximately 2.4 cm (15/16 of an inch) in height excluding the attachment loop and bale, and approximately 1.8 cm (11/16 of an inch) in width.
The original stamp which this charm replicates was printed 1883 and Emperor Alexander III was coronated in 1883, talk about Imperial Blue! Perhaps this little beauty was a memorial charm that belonged to his son Emperor Nicholas II? Regardless this charm is definitely a historical little treasure representing the Romanov legacy, and would make an imperial addition to any collection, no? Please feel free to check out my other Museum Quality Collection!
For the year of our Lord 2015 I wish you an Imperial Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
