Antiquer Imperial Russian Lacquer Box Vishniakov Troika 19 Century Tea Caddy

  
An antique Imperial Russian lacquer papier mache box, 19 century, Vishniakov factory, likely intended for use as a tobacco box/ humidor or a tea caddy. The top is decorated by a well executed hand painted scene of a Russian troika, horse drown sleigh in a winter village. Extensive use of silver leaf. Comes from a prominent local private collection of Russian and Soviet art.

The box is in generally good vintage condition for it's age, except for some very minor lacquer loss and cricatures common for the boxes of this period, see pictures for details. Still nice and original example of Russian Imperial lacquer work. Size 3 3/8" x 2 3/4" x 2 1/4 height.
