For sale is a rare porcelain plate made by the famous St. Petersburg Imperial factory during the reign of Czar Alexander the 2nd who ruled from 1855 until his assassination in 1881.
The plate is hand painted very much in the Sevres style with a nice gold design to the rim and a pink and blue band around the edge of the plate. The edge of the well has a gold trim to it and it has a large blue and gold medallion in the very center. It's a great looking plate!I could not find a famous service this might have been from so it appears to just be a single plate which makes it rarer : The plate displays nicely but is not perfect. It has a restored small chip to the very edge with some gold and paint redone in that area to hide it. Also a bit of wear to the gilding but it does display very well! The dish is marked with the green A II mark (very faint but it is there) as well as four blue dots along the foot ring that authentic pieces often have.
I don't think it is known what they represent. The plate is 1.5 inches in tall and 9.625 inches in diameter so a nice sized piece! Russia 19th century 19thC Tsar Czar Tzar.
