Underneath the enamelling is a gilt base and the bowl of the spoon is also lightly gilt with a nice amount of natural fading from its natural age and usage. The stem of the spoon features two sections: one straight and one area which features a classic'twisted' design. The handle of the spoon is equally intricate with thin alternating panels of green and magenta/purple cloisonne enamelling and a beaded top with blue enamel.
The overall proportion and aesthetics of the spoons are very fine and intricately crafted - all the cloisons sit tightly with symmetry within the confined and minute spaces these spoons provide. Each Spoon is marked with the Maker's Mark "EO" and the'spade' shaped Kokoshnik 84 mark with the Delta Symbol signifying its origin in the Moscow region.
