The word ephemera is derived from the sixteenth century Greek word ephmera meaning a printed or hand written paper not meant to be retained for a long period of time. He was known as Siocha to the imperial family and was appointed French tutor to the children of Tsar Alexander III in 1886 when he was 28.
He remained with them until 1899 and continued to be close to them for the remainder of his life. This interesting letter finds her discussing daily life, Princess Vera, Prince Valdemar and Prince Viggo.
