Antique Imperial Russian Faberge Diamond Silver 84 Gold Plate Snake Egg Pendant. An old antique silver gold plated egg pendant from the period of the Russian Empire. The egg was made by the jeweler of the Russian imperial court - Carl Faberge. It is marked with the Russian imperial silver hallmark. Such pendants were ordered by high officials of the Russian imperial court in order to be presented as gifts on various occasions. Very few of the high and court ladies had the honor of owning such jewelry. The egg is entirely hand made. It is made of silver with gold plate and is decorated with two rose cut diamonds. There is also a snake wrapped around the egg - the egg as a symbol of the beginning of life and the snake as a symbol of its end.

This is indeed a very beautiful stylized presentation of the Beginning and the End by the glorious workmaster Carl Faberge. The item is with its original box. Both the egg and the case are in good condition for their age. 19 mm at the widest.
