Antique Imperial Russian Faberge 88 Gilded Guilloche Silver Cigarette Case
Up for your consideration antique Imperial Russian Faberge 88. Gilded silver cigarette case in the fitted box, decorated with light green guilloche enamel and Russian eagle on both sides; on the front side the eagle is decorated with cabochon rubies and old cut diamonds. Anders Juhaninpoika Nevalainen, Russian gold- and silversmith, Fabergé workmaster of Finnish origin. Born in Pielisjärvi, Finland in 1858. Apprentice in Finland and in St. Petersburg in 1874, goldworker in 1875, master goldsmith in 1885. As master first working in the jewelry atelier of August Holmström, and soon became as head of workshop under exclusive contract with Fabergé. His workshop made silver-mounted frames in birchwood, palisander or lacquer, silver- and gold cigarette-cases, enameled silver-gilt cases with leather sleeves, several small silver-gilt objects. His initials AN, mostly used with K. Fabergé mark without the double-headed eagle Imperial Warrant.
The case is in very good condition with some minor scratched corresponding with age and use; closes but not 100 firmly; could be easy fixed by jeweler. Please, look at the pictures as they are part of the description.
