Antique 1848 Imperial Russian 84 Silver LG 13 Ladle 1816 portugal 400 Reis coin

  

It measures approximately 13 inches and weighs 230 grams. Interesting piece with a Portuguese 400 Reis silver coin embedded at the base of the bowl. The coin was minted in 1816 and the actual ladle was manufactured in1848.

Overall good condition and free of damage. Fully hallmarked with a Russian Imperial Mark dating the piece to 1848. Rare piece with unusual Portuguese coin whose historical significance appears to be lost with time.
