Antique 1837 Russian Imperial Orthodox Chalice Cup (made By Fyodor Tolstoy)

  

Its great unique piece from Russian Imperial history. Russian Imperial history Alexander I time had been famous for many wars. In year 1813 March 31st Russian soldiers had taken over Paris under AlexanderI.

In year 1815 on 26th of May war was declared on Napoleon by coalition of 7 countries including Russia. On June 18, 1815 Napoleon had suffered a defeat near village in Waterloo.

After this battle Napoleon did not attempt to conquer anymore countries. In October of year 1815 Napoleon was sent to island of Saint Yelena. All this information is given so you can see one of the medals on this cup. Top of cup has 3 medals.

1st medal showing writing in Russian "PEACE IN EUROPE" dated 1815. Below there is mark that this medal is made from model of FYODOR TOLSTOY(Fyodor Tolstoy was famous painter and medal maker for important people & events his biography is below). This medal and other medals were manufactured by A LALIN in year 1837.

2nd medal is showing emperor Alexander I. He is shown in armour of Antique Greece. 3rd medal is showing traditional emblem of Russian Empire that has marking in Russian GOD IS WITH US. These medals are made from copper.

On the bottom of Chalice in form of medal there is 5 Russian Emperors: Yekaterina II, Pavel I, Alexander I, Nikolay I, AlexanderII. This Chalice is a historic and museum quality piece.
